Aedín Cosgrove Lighting Workshop at PQ2015

As part of the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space 2015, Aedín Cosgrove, scenographer, artistic director and co-founder of Pan Pan, will be presenting a workshop on lighting:

Listen to the Light Now
Samuel Beckett. Embers. 22 June 2015

“Light is only visible when it strikes. As it strikes, it animates, clarifies, illuminates and equally creates a shadow. The elemental energy of light remains an invisible pre-sense in a dynamic scenography creating silent tensions waiting to be released.

With particular reference to the plays of Samuel Beckett, this workshop will also examine how light can cut straight to the heart of the matter, both in the written lighting of Beckett and through visual interpretations of his radio plays, All that Fall and Embers.

“Light can only express what belongs to the ‘inner essence of all vision’” Appia.
